Weekly Devotional - Take Heart, your help is here.

Caroline Helms

"I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world." John 16:33 ESV

Tribulation biblical meaning: severe affliction or distresses of life.

Take heart biblical meaning: to take control of your mind so that you can be brave or courageous.

This is one of my favorite scriptures in the Bible, it is painting a picture of Jesus explaining the events that will soon be taking place to His disciples. He tells them He is heading for the cross and they did not want to hear that. They were afraid.

The Bible tells us to renew our minds and set our sights on God, like Jesus did.

He knew what He was about to face. He knew His Father's purpose for Him would be fulfilled. He also knew this was not the end!

Jesus never wavered, never changed even facing death. He knew our Father in Heaven would see Him through.

Jesus beat death and the grave!

If Jesus can face His own demise and remain encouraging, loving and forgiving to those around Him, surely whatever troubles or sorrows you face in your own life can be given to God. The truth is, it is already done!

In times of trouble, fear or anxiousness, remember this scripture.

You can always count on trouble or sorrow in life, it happens to us all but take courage in Christ's victory!

Through God you can face anything!
